Privacy vs Nothing to hide

Every time i recommend something to someone in their own benefit regarding their personal privacy; i always get 2 outcomes.

a: they have nothing to hide and have more important stuff to worry about.
b: only me to think of these things.

Regardless of what people believe; the right or use of privacy methods is a fundamental right of any democratic system which by itself should be self explanatory.

When you claim that you have nothing to hide you are only bombing yourself, starting by assuring your government or any other forms of control over you that whatever they are doing to protect you is good enough and allowing those forms of control to see you "naked" whenever they want making you believe that "you are protected".
(thats what they want. No form of control wants resistance against it)

But you have nothing to hide.Very well then don't worry.
But what if you have money to save ? will it be important to have something to hide now?

This leads us to identity theft. Yes YOU in paperwork.
Identity theft which has probably become the growing crime of the century.
It might be something that you should worry because you have nothing to hide.

To make a long story short; cleaning your personal record after identity theft is a slow, long and painful process that in minimum average costs $10000 to $15000 US dollars in north america and will take years for you to fully recover from it.
Yes it will cost you money.

And guess what ?
All because you had nothing to hide.
Good for you.

Bragging about having nothing to hide is either one of the most ignorant statements someone can say or one of the most wise if you know something that the rest of the planet is not aware.

Having nothing to hide is as intelligent as constantly walking outside in the rain in shorts and hopping not to catch a cold.

Perhaps these links might be of some interest for someone who has nothing to hide.
